Tech leaders call for pause on AI experiments and training.

Elon Musk, Steve Wozniak, and other tech industry executives and academics have signed an open letter calling for a six-month pause on large, open experiments with artificial intelligence. The letter warns of potentially apocalyptic scenarios and suggests that governments should step in and institute a moratorium if a pause cannot be enacted quickly. While many agree that the AI industry is moving ahead dangerously quickly, some ethicists have criticized the letter for focusing on theoretical, eventual harms from AI.
