AMD to Invest $400 Million in India, Expanding Operations and Design Center

U.S. chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) plans to invest approximately $400 million in India over the next five years, with the aim of establishing its largest design center in Bengaluru. The company will open a new design center campus by the end of this year and create 3,000 engineering roles within five years. This move comes as the Indian government seeks to attract investments in the country's chip sector and establish itself as a chipmaking hub. AMD's chips are used in a wide range of devices, and the company is also developing an artificial intelligence chip to compete with Nvidia.
