TikTok pulls the plug on its $2 billion Creator Fund

TikTok is ending its $2 billion Creator Fund, which was launched in 2020 to support eligible content creators on the platform. Many creators expressed concerns about the fund, stating that it made monetization difficult and favored TikTok's bottom line. The fund will be discontinued on December 16 in the U.S., the U.K., France, and Germany. TikTok recently introduced its Creativity Program as an alternative, offering creators the opportunity to earn up to 20 times the previous amount offered by the Creator Fund. It is unclear if global creators will be included in a different monetization program.
