Delta flight delayed by massive swarm of bees

A Delta flight from Houston to Atlanta was delayed for three hours after a swarm of bees latched onto the winglet of the A320 aircraft. Passengers were not allowed to board the plane until the bees were removed. The bees were finally shaken loose of the plane after airport employees conducted a pushback using ground safety equipment. Delta Airlines apologized to customers and explained that the delay was necessary to ensure the welfare of the bees and to prevent contamination of the aircraft.
