Persistent Power Outages Plague St. Louis and Jacksonville, Frustrating Residents and Prompting Collaborative Efforts

Over 1,000 utility workers are working to restore power to more than 22,000 Ameren customers in the St. Louis region after severe storms caused power outages, leaving two dead. As of Tuesday evening, around 5,900 residents in St. Louis, 15,100 in St. Louis County, and 1,500 in St. Clair County were still without power. Utility repairs have been slowed by clearing brush from downed trees, but most customers should have power restored by Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.
