CVS has closed its acquisition of at-home healthcare services company Signify Health for $8 billion, making it one of the first pharmacy chains in the US to enter the at-home healthcare space. The deal may allow CVS to expand its healthcare services into rural areas and provide COVID testing and potentially abortion care in people's homes. Signify Health has thousands of employees, including physicians and nurse practitioners, who provide a "holistic suite of clinical, social, and behavioral services to address an individual's healthcare needs and prevent adverse events that drive excess cost, all while shifting services towards the home."
