"Massive Ground Beef Recall Issued Nationwide Due to E. Coli Risk"

Valley Meats LLC has recalled approximately 6,800 pounds of beef patties and ground beef due to potential contamination with E. coli 0157:H7, a harmful bacterium. The affected products, marked with "EST. 5712," were distributed to institutions and restaurants in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Michigan. The FSIS has advised not to consume these products and to either discard them or return them to the place of purchase. No adverse reactions have been reported, but the strain can cause serious illness, particularly in young children and older adults.
