Overcoming Shortages: Russian Industries Find Solutions to Production Challenges

Russian tank production may no longer be hindered by a shortage of optics, as new video footage suggests that the Omsktransmash tank plant is now shipping T-80BVM tanks equipped with Sosna-U sights. Previously, French sanctions had prevented the export of the necessary thermal cameras, leading to the use of older tanks with outdated sights. However, it remains unclear whether the tanks are now fitted with the original Sosna-U or a Russian copy called PNM-T. If the optics crisis has been permanently resolved, it could impact the battlefield advantage currently held by Ukraine, which is set to receive American-made M-1 tanks with superior optics in the near future.
