Joseph O'Connor, a British man, has been sentenced to five years in jail for hacking high profile Twitter accounts, including those of Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Elon Musk, as part of a major Bitcoin scam in July 2020. The scam generated tweets asking followers to send Bitcoin to an account, promising to double their money. O'Connor, who pleaded guilty to hacking charges last month, was also ordered to pay almost $800,000 in forfeiture.
