Elizabeth Holmes' Prison Sentence Reduced by Two Years

Elizabeth Holmes, the disgraced co-founder of Theranos, has had her prison sentence reduced by two years, according to Bureau of Prisons records. Holmes, who was sentenced to 11 years and three months for defrauding investors, will now be released on December 29, 2032. The Bureau has not provided a reason for the reduction, but good behavior and completion of programs can result in a shortened sentence. Holmes' former colleague, Ramesh "Sunny" Balwani, also had his sentence reduced by two years. In addition to their prison terms, both were ordered to pay over $452 million in restitution.
