Arrest Made in Fatal Shooting at Mesa McDonald's Drive-Thru

A man has been arrested for a deadly shooting at a Mesa McDonald's drive-thru following a verbal altercation with the victim and others. The suspect, 26-year-old Carlos Heard II, allegedly shot 22-year-old Daniel Betker multiple times before fleeing the scene. Police connected Heard to the crime through surveillance footage and arrested him at a Mesa apartment complex, where they found a gun matching the shooting and other evidence. Heard faces charges of second-degree murder, endangerment, and disorderly conduct.
