Toyota is recalling 381,000 Tacoma midsize pickup trucks in the U.S. from the 2022 and 2023 model years due to welding debris left on the ends of the axles, which can cause nuts to loosen and eventually fall off, increasing the risk of a crash. Owners will be notified by mail in late April, and dealers will inspect the rear axles and tighten retaining nuts at no cost, with any damaged components being repaired or replaced.
