Hyundai and Kia owners who have had their vehicles stolen are facing frustration due to a national backlog in parts. Jillian Duarte's 2018 Hyundai Sonata was stolen and later found abandoned and wrecked, with an estimated repair cost of $5500. However, she has been told that she is still weeks away from getting back behind the wheel due to the backlog on Hyundai parts. The City of Buffalo is on pace for 3000 thefts by the end of 2023, which would almost triple the normal average.
