"GM Recalls 820,000 Trucks in North America for Faulty Tailgates"

General Motors has expanded its recall of trucks in the U.S. and Canada to 820,000 vehicles due to a faulty tailgate that may unlatch from water intrusion. The affected models include 2020-2024 Chevy Silverados and GMC Sierras, with approximately 249,000 vehicles affected in Canada. GM has not received reports of major injuries or property damage, and only 1% of the recalled vehicles are estimated to have the defect. Dealers have been instructed to replace the exterior touchpad switch assemblies to address the issue.
