Safety concerns ignored as company refuses to recall 67 million airbag inflators

ARC Automotive, a US company that manufactures airbag inflators, is refusing to recall 67 million of the inflators that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says may pose an "unreasonable risk of death and injury" to drivers and passengers. NHTSA believes that at least two people were killed and seven more injured in the US and Canada after the ARC inflators ruptured. If ARC continues to refuse the recall, the NHTSA will schedule a public hearing, then it could take the company to court to force a recall.
