A rare pen-and-ink sketch depicting American troops and their female companions during the Revolutionary War was discovered in a New York City apartment. The sketch, believed to be one of the earliest eyewitness depictions of American troops, was found by Matthew Skic, a curator at the Museum of the American Revolution. After extensive research, Skic confirmed that the sketch was created by Pierre Eugene du Simitiere, a prominent artist of the era.
