The runaway animal was filmed running alongside traffic on Sunday, May 21, northwest of Detroit. The group was "on the shoulder of I-75 with horses and four-wheelers when they attempted to capture the suspect bovine but were unsuccessful in their attempts," according to police. The video released by police ends after the cow crosses a center median and appears to hop over a guardrail into oncoming traffic.

A runaway cow was spotted sprinting down Interstate 75 in Holly, Michigan on Sunday before it was wrangled and returned to its pasture by wranglers on horses and four-wheelers. The cow managed to escape its advisories and entered the northbound lanes of I-75. The north and southbound lanes of I-75 were shut down for safety as the group attempted to capture the cow. A man on horseback wearing a cowboy hat and denim quickly comes up behind the cow and tosses his lasso around the cow’s neck, safely capturing it before pulling over to the road’s median. The freeway was reopened soon after and the cow was returned to its pasture.
