Scooter, the Bald and Backward-Legged Pup, Wins World's Ugliest Dog Crown
Scooter, a 7-year-old Chinese Crested with reversed hind legs and a loose tongue, won the World's Ugliest Dog Contest at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, California. Scooter had been brought to animal control in Tucson, Arizona, to be euthanized but was rescued and given a chance at finding a good home. His owner, Linda Elmquist, hoisted him high after he was named the champion. The contest promotes the adoption of dogs and celebrates imperfection.
