The mostly former employees of “The Kelly Clarkson Show” spoke of mistreatment and favoritism from producers, deteriorating mental health because of treatment, lack of accountability despite multiple HR complaints, retaliation for filing HR complaints, and inadequate pay among lower-level staffers. Clarkson said that she and her senior staff would commit to leadership training, including her team moving from L.A. and her new team in New York. NBCUniversal said in a statement that they take workplace complaints very seriously and strive to build a safe, respectful, and equitable workplace that nurtures a culture of inclusivity and creativity.

"Toxic" Workplace Allegations Lead to Studio Splits and Solo Development

The Open Roads Team has split from Fullbright after allegations of a "toxic work culture" were made against co-founder Steve Gaynor. The team will continue to work with Annapurna Interactive, but will no longer be connected to Fullbright. Gaynor stepped down as creative lead on Open Roads two years ago following accusations of creating a "toxic work culture". The behavior reportedly led to 12 staff members exiting the studio. While the Open Roads Team continues to work on the game, Gaynor will be continuing on with Fullbright.
