Anushka Sharma made her debut at the 76th Cannes Film Festival wearing a Richard Quinn gown. She is attending the festival to honour women in cinema and will be joined by actor Kate Winslet. Anushka's next film is the sports biopic Chakda Xpress, based on the life of former Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami, which will exclusively stream on Netflix.
Cate Blanchett, who was at the Cannes Film Festival to present her new film, "The New Boy," said during a conversation that she has been trying to stop acting her entire professional life and wants to branch out into other filmmaking pursuits. She also talked about her work as a producer, which she said "feels (like) an extension, for me, of my work as an actor." Blanchett is an accomplished producer, executive producing films such as "Carol" and "Tár." She also discussed the importance of gender diversity in the film industry and her mandate to interview a woman and a person of color on all her projects going forward.
