"Laundry Expert Reveals: Neglected Winter Coats Pose Filthy Problem"
A new study reveals that many people are not washing their winter coats often enough, with one in five washing them only once a year and 17% admitting to never washing them at all. Laundry expert Sarah Dempsey emphasizes the importance of keeping coats clean, as they can pick up pollutants and dirt from the weather and wear. Different types of coats require different cleaning methods, with wool coats typically needing only one cleaning per season, leather coats requiring cleaning once or twice a year, and quilted jackets and parkas benefitting from washing twice during the winter season. In addition to regular cleaning, it is recommended to air out coats, steam them, and use fabric freshening spray to maintain their condition.
