From Captivity to Freedom: The Incredible Journey of Ruben the Lion

Ruben, a 15-year-old lion, has finally experienced freedom after spending six years alone in a cramped cage in an Azerbaijan zoo. The Daily Mail highlighted his plight, leading to a rescue effort by UK-based charity Animal Defenders International. Ruben was transported to a wildlife sanctuary in South Africa with the help of Qatar Airlines. Upon stepping onto African soil, Ruben took his first steps on grass, having forgotten how to roar during his time in captivity.

Controversy Surrounds Disappearance of Sarus Crane from UP Bird Sanctuary

A Sarus crane, which was nursed back to health by a farmer in India, has been confiscated by officials and moved to a wildlife sanctuary. The farmer found the bird in his field a year ago and expected it to fly back to the wild, but it never did. Under Indian law, it is illegal for individuals to keep Sarus cranes or even feed them. Wildlife expert Samir Kumar Sinha said moving the bird to a sanctuary was the right thing to do, as conservation and compassion are two different things.
