"Oregon's Camp Creek Fire Threatens Portland's Water Source and Forces Evacuations"

Lightning strikes in Western Oregon have caused numerous wildfires, with some growing into significant blazes, leading to evacuations and air quality issues. The Camp Creek Fire near Portland's water source has grown to 1,226 acres but remains 2.4 miles away from the water treatment facility. The Silver Falls fire is out, and closed trails will reopen. Other fires are burning near Mary's Peak and the Oregon Coast, while evacuations have been ordered for the Mink Lake Basin and Three Sisters Wilderness. Fire crews are also battling the Lookout, Horse Creek, and Pothole fires in the McKenzie River corridor, and the Bedrock Fire has seen evacuation downgrades. Umpqua National Forest is dealing with 11 new fires, and the Tyee Ridge Complex outside Sutherlin has brought evacuations. Southern Oregon has also seen new fires in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, while the Smith River Complex on the Oregon-California state line has grown to 68,094 acres.
