Honoring 9/11 Victims: Waves of Flags Return to Pepperdine University and Romare Bearden Park
Pepperdine University's "Waves of Flags" display, consisting of nearly 3,000 American flags representing the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attack, has returned to the campus ahead of the 22nd anniversary. Actor Chris Pratt will speak at the closed remembrance ceremony, where attendees can also walk through the display to pay tribute. The tradition started in 2008 and will be up until September 20, with community volunteers lowering the flags on September 21.
