Search underway for missing 7-year-old and deceased mother in Moss Landing.
A mother was found dead in the water off Moss Landing, Monterey County, and her 7-year-old son is still missing. The US Coast Guard assisted in the search but suspended it on Thursday afternoon. The family is from the Watsonville-Salinas area, and the circumstances of what they were doing at the beach have not been made public.
