
Heat Waves Force School Closures and Early Dismissals in Multiple U.S. Cities
Thousands of residents in Waterford Township were without power due to unidentified causes, resulting in school closures. The National Weather Service declared much of southeast Michigan would be under an air quality alert Thursday. The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy declared June 1 to be an action day for elevated levels of ozone, alerting pollutants are expected to be in the unhealthy for sensitive groups range.
