Colonel Frank Borman, known for being the Commander of Apollo 8 and the first human to leave low Earth orbit, was also a warbird enthusiast and owner of several meticulously restored vintage aircraft. His collection included a Convair L-13A utility aircraft, a Harvard Mk.4, an Aero L-39C, two Mustangs (P-51D and CA-18), and a Sabre (Canadair CL-13B Mk. 6). Borman also operated civil vintage types such as a Waco SRE, Stinson V-77, and C-45 Expeditor. His aircraft restorations won air show prizes, and he was remembered as a supportive and inspirational leader in the aviation community.
