
U.S. Charges 4 Russian Soldiers with War Crimes in Ukraine
The U.S. Justice Department has unveiled war crimes charges against four individuals affiliated with the Russian military for allegedly abducting and torturing an American citizen in Ukraine during the Russian invasion. This marks the first time the U.S. has brought war crimes charges in connection with the Russian assault on Ukraine. The defendants are accused of unlawfully detaining, interrogating, beating, and threatening to kill the victim. If convicted, they could face a maximum sentence of life in prison.
