"Texas Teen Firefighters Battle Spreading Panhandle Wildfires"
Teenagers from the Hoover Volunteer Fire Department in Pampa, Texas, including 15-year-old Nathan Slater and 15-year-old Gage Hardman, have been bravely fighting the Smokehouse Creek Fire, the largest wildfire in Texas history. The nine junior members of the volunteer fire department have been working alongside experienced adults to help contain the blaze, providing water, supplies, and hosing down fires. Despite feeling fear and adrenaline, the teens have shown courage and camaraderie, with their parents expressing both pride and concern. Many of the junior firefighters joined the effort to stay out of trouble and plan to continue contributing to the firehouse in the future, hoping to inspire others to lend a hand during difficult times.
