
Volition, Saints Row Developer, Shut Down by Embracer Group
Volition Games, the historic studio behind classics like Descent and Red Faction, has announced its closure by parent company Embracer Group. The studio, known for developing the Saints Row series, was shut down as part of Embracer's restructuring program. Volition expressed gratitude to its customers and fans and stated that it is working to provide job assistance to its team members. Embracer Group has been acquiring various studios in recent years, including Crystal Dynamics and Gearbox, and had previously announced plans to close studios and cancel games due to a failed $2 billion deal.
