Activision Settles Viral TikTok Lawsuit
Activision has dropped its lawsuit against music critic and internet personality Anthony Fantano, who claimed that the company misused a viral audio clip he created. The lawsuit alleged that Fantano threatened to sue for violating his publicity rights and demanded a settlement payment. Activision dismissed its own case with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled. The company used the audio clip in a TikTok video featuring imagery from its "Crash Bandicoot" video games.
