Daisy Ridley, known for her role in "Star Wars," faced significant physical challenges while filming "Young Woman and the Sea," where she portrayed Olympic swimmer Gertrude Ederle. Ridley had to swim in heavy vintage costumes, which she described as being like a weight vest. She trained extensively with Olympic swimmer Siobhan O’Connor and also served as an executive producer on the film. The movie, which tells the inspiring story of Ederle's historic swim across the English Channel, is now in theaters.
