Publisher pressure spurred Lara Croft redesign, but only manuals were updated
Core Design says its Japanese publisher Victor Interactive Software pushed to alter Lara Croft's appearance to appeal to a Japanese audience; as a compromise, only the manuals and guides were changed, with the in-game models left as originally designed.
