Supreme Court Supports Veteran's GI Bill Lawsuit
The Supreme Court ruled in favor of a veteran who sued Veterans Affairs officials for limiting his education support by denying him access to both his Post-9/11 GI Bill and Montgomery GI Bill benefits. The 7-2 decision could impact as many as 1.7 million veterans nationwide, allowing them to potentially benefit from unused education benefits. The case centered on a 43-year-old Army veteran who wanted to use his remaining Montgomery GI Bill benefits to attend Yale Divinity School after exhausting his Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits.
