Rampaging Ambulance Thief Leads Police on D.C. Chase, Causing Multiple Crashes
The man accused of stealing two trucks and an Arlington County ambulance over the weekend, causing damage to multiple vehicles, had a previous arrest in Arlington in May. Darell Caldwell, a 30-year-old Maryland man, is facing federal and local charges for the incident, which involved a wild police chase across Arlington and into D.C. Caldwell has a criminal record in multiple jurisdictions and was out on bond from a recent Arlington case. The stolen ambulance will be repaired, and the fire department will use a spare unit until it is back in service.
