Arcia returned to the lineup just 3 1/2 weeks after being hit with a fastball that left him with a microfracture in his left wrist. The Braves had been prepared to go with Grissom and Braden Shewmake in a shortstop platoon until Arcia returned following a rehab assignment, but Arcia lobbied hard for the Braves to activate him rather than spend time in Triple A. The team said the decision was based solely on Arcia looking ready in his workouts.
