Believed at last: California kidnapping survivors help expose a serial attacker
In a decades-long reckoning sparked by a 2015 Vallejo kidnapping, Denise Huskins Quinn and Aaron Quinn were initially doubted by police, but a Dublin home invasion and a string of confessions tied Matthew Muller to Denise’s kidnapping and other crimes. Investigators later used science-based interviewing to elicit details and uncover additional assaults, leading to Muller's conviction and four life terms. Denise and Aaron settled a civil suit, and today advocate for believing victims and reforming investigative interviewing, while continuing to seek accountability for possible accomplices.
