Fatal Crash Leaves Car Split in Half

At least one person died and four others were hospitalized after a car crashed into a utility pole, splitting the vehicle in half, at the intersection of Union Avenue and E. 78th Street in Cleveland. The hospitalized individuals include a 30-year-old man, a 31-year-old woman, and two 16-year-old boys, with the teenagers in serious condition. The cause of the accident remains unknown.

Drivers detoured off I-95 southbound due to last weekend's collapse in Northeast Philadelphia were detoured again due to a crash where a utility pole apparently came down on a car. The closure of State Road forced drivers onto Tacony neighborhood streets. A truck clipped the wires and caused the pole to fall onto the car, but thankfully, no one was hurt. Southbound drivers are suggested to avoid Northeast Philadelphia entirely or use alternate routes.

I-95 Collapse Highlights Vulnerability of US Roads.

A crash involving a downed utility pole on top of a vehicle shut down State Road at Princeton Avenue in Tacony, Philadelphia, which was being used as a detour for I-95. The roadway reopened to traffic just before 10 a.m. No injuries were reported. Drivers were being forced off of I-95 at Cottman Avenue and onto Torresdale Avenue during the closure. Crews are now readying to build a temporary roadway after the demolition portion of the reconstruction of I-95 ended on Thursday.
