"Passenger Faces 20 Years for Assaulting Crew and Officer on Diverted Flight"
Keith Edward Fagiana, a passenger on an American Airlines flight, is facing up to 20 years in prison for punching a flight attendant and later assaulting police officers after being removed from the plane. The incident led to the diversion of the flight to Amarillo, Texas. Fagiana, who admitted to drinking before the flight, is charged with interfering with a flight crew and is scheduled for a federal court appearance. This case adds to the thousands of unruly passenger incidents reported to the FAA, although such incidents have decreased since a peak in 2021.
