Hideo Kojima has expressed his desire to leave Earth and create a game that can be played in space. The veteran game director has a history of experimenting with unconventional gameplay mechanics, such as the light sensor in Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hand. Kojima has also spoken in the past about creating a game that would self-destruct if the player dies in-game. Kojima started his career at Konami, where he designed Metal Gear and produced several acclaimed games.
