UMass Appoints Joe Harasymiak as New Head Coach
UMass is set to hire Joe Harasymiak, Rutgers' defensive coordinator, as its new head football coach on a five-year deal worth $1.3 to $1.4 million annually. Harasymiak, known for his success at challenging programs like Maine and Rutgers, will lead UMass as it transitions into the MAC in 2025. The university is investing heavily in its football program, with significant NIL/revenue share funds and the highest staff pool in the MAC, aiming to improve its historically poor FBS performance.
