Amazon Prime Video is restructuring its plans: basic Prime Video will be capped at 1080p, while 4K/UHD requires the new Ultra tier at $4.99 more per month. Ultra adds more offline downloads (up to 100), Dolby Atmos audio and Dolby Vision, and more concurrent streams (up to five). Basic members will gain Dolby Vision support and increase from three to four concurrent streams; true 4K remains bandwidth- or device-dependent for many users.
Steam is testing a new ultra tier of system requirements, starting with the game Portal with RTX, to provide gamers with hardware expectations for running games at the highest settings and achieving solid frame rates. This move raises questions about why more developers don't reveal high-level system requirements before a game's release, with late-stage optimization and the lack of information on hardware needs for top graphics settings being key factors. While this may signal a shift in system requirement transparency, it's possible that the ultra specs will only feature on specific re-releases.
