"Minnesota Man Convicted of Reckless Homicide in Apple River Stabbing Trial"
Nicolae Miu, a 54-year-old Minnesota man, was convicted of first-degree reckless homicide and other charges in the fatal stabbing of a high school student and the injuring of four others while tubing on the Apple River in Wisconsin. The incident occurred after Miu was accused of approaching children in the water, leading to a confrontation during which he fatally stabbed 17-year-old Isaac Schuman. Miu claimed self-defense, but prosecutors argued that he had opportunities to de-escalate the situation. No sentencing date has been set.
