"Russia's Deceptive Tactics: Decoy Bombers Discovered on Air Base Tarmac"
Russia is reportedly painting decoy silhouettes of its valuable Tu-95 strategic bombers on the tarmac of its main bomber base, Engels-2, in an attempt to confuse possible Ukrainian strikes. Satellite imagery shows two-dimensional painted decoys, which may be made with cloth or canvas. The decoys also feature car tires to make them appear more realistic. However, experts note that the decoys are easily spotted as fake, even in commercially available satellite imagery. Decoys can be effective in military operations, but it remains unclear how effective these two-dimensional decoys will be.
