Empowering Girls: Celebrating International Day of the Girl
The Archewell Foundation celebrated International Day of the Girl by joining Troop 6000, a Girl Scout troop in New York City that supports young girls living in the shelter system. The program empowers the girls through weekly meetings, badge activities, and leadership development, and now serves over 1000 Girl Scouts at 25 shelter sites. Troop 6000 recently expanded its program to support migrant and asylum-seeking families and offers bilingual programming. The foundation provided a donation of scarves, beanies, and tote bags to the girls and their troop leaders.
