A utility worker in San Francisco died after being trapped under approximately 8 feet of dirt in a collapsed trench. Despite the efforts of firefighters to rescue him, the man was pronounced dead after more than 90 minutes of digging. The cause of the trench collapse and the company the worker was employed by remain unclear.
