Richard M. Mangiardi Jr., 33, from Pittsfield, Massachusetts, died in a snowmobile crash after failing to negotiate a curve and striking a tree near Culpepper Road in the town of Montague. He suffered a traumatic head injury and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A 12-year-old boy, Daniel L. Beiler, was killed by a falling tree in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The incident happened around 4 p.m. on Sawmill Road in Providence Township and is believed to be weather-related since storms were sweeping across the area during that time. The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the accidental death of the boy.
