"NIA Takes Over Probe of Highly Radicalised Accused in Kerala Train Arson Case"
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will take over the investigation into the Kerala train arson case soon, after the Kerala police invoked the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act against accused Shahrukh Saifi. Saifi, who is assessed to be "highly radicalised" and influenced by inflammatory speeches of Islamic evangelist Zakir Naik, planned and executed the act of arson. The NIA will investigate the larger conspiracy, possible handlers and aides, and examine the inter-state linkages.
