"Volca Interiores Transforms Brisa Home into a Stylish Haven"

Brisa Home, a project by Volca Interiores, showcases an integral reform that emphasizes the use of traditional materials such as handmade clay, stone, and wood. The combination of these materials with micro cement flooring creates a clean and harmonious effect throughout the space. The distribution of the house has been inverted to prioritize natural light and open spaces, with the terrace taking center stage. The design incorporates warm and indirect lighting, highlighting the texture of the walls and fixed furniture. The result is a warm and cozy atmosphere that blends traditional Mediterranean architecture with contemporary elements.

Alexandre Loureiro Architecture Studio designs RDG House.

Alexandre Loureiro Architecture Studio has rehabilitated a century-old abandoned summer house in a small village on the Costa Vicentina, Portugal. The project aimed to build with simple, indigenous materials that are traditionally present in the local culture, adapting them to the new challenges of contemporary living. The small narrow house measuring only 55 sqm was organized in a simple way, but very compartmentalized. The house has traditional rammed earth walls, wooden cage partitions, and a reed ceiling with the traditional "rat heel”. All furniture is made of natural wood, providing a natural harmony to the spaces and giving a sense of balance to the environment.
