Bulls' strategy to secure 2023 1st-round pick despite Trail Blazers' struggles.

The Chicago Bulls have a logical pathway to still land a first-round pick in this June's NBA draft, despite owing their first-round pick to the Orlando Magic unless it lands in the top-four picks. It centers on Portland's trade of Josh Hart to the Knicks, in which the Trail Blazers also acquired a lottery-protected, first-round pick from the Knicks. Portland may discuss changing the protections on the first-round pick it owes the Bulls or perhaps even send the Knicks' pick to the Bulls for their own pick back, giving the Trail Blazers more trade flexibility moving forward.
